We all know the saying: ‘children should be seen and not heard’.
But it’s 2025, so one mom has a PSA for diners hoping for a lull in family restaurants:
“Don’t go to family restaurants if you are intolerant of children.”
“No one has given me a position for my children until today”

Kitty was eating with her two daughters when she came across an unexpected interaction where a protective friend seemed frustrated by her children.
After driving to a regular chain restaurant, she spoke from her car on TikTok about society’s attitude towards children.
“I’ve never had anyone be upset or give me an attitude about my kids to this day,” she says.
“We’re sitting there. We’re eating our food and Remy is loud, like when Remy talks, she’s loud.
“This guy was sitting a table away from us by himself, reading a book. It’s game day. There are college basketball games.”
Kitty says the man let out an “evil sigh” before moving the tables.
“He’s huffing and puffing, banging his things on the table,” she says, realizing he was upset with her children.
She decided to confront him, asking if her children were annoying her.
“He looked at me and said, ‘yes.'”
She left Kitty less than impressed.
“This is not a quiet place. If you want a quiet place, go to the library.”
“Basic respect”
She said she had asked her 17-month-old son to keep his voice down, but that only goes so far.
“She’s just loud. She is a little girl. She’s a little girl,” she says.
Her video was met with mixed reactions.

“I understand the normal fuss of kids, but I still teach my kids from a very young age how to behave in restaurants,” one viewer wrote.
Another added: “It doesn’t matter if it’s ‘family friendly’ or not, it’s basic respect.”
Kitty defended her children, claiming that they are usually well behaved.
“I’m pretty self-aware and I’m not one of those parents who’s going to let my kids sit there and scream and lash out. So just don’t go out to eat or go to the library if you want peace and quiet.”
