One mother remained indignant after her daughter was ashamed of being very weak.
Her 10-year-old had been associating with friends when they made a comment on her appearance.
Recently, the 6th student fell into strife with her old friends and joined a new group.
“She has now made friends with some other lovely girls and everything was okay. To date, ”the mother said.
‘Thin as stick’
But a friend from her earlier group destroyed that peace.
“One of the girls in the group she was earlier approached and said my daughter was ‘thin like a stick’ and told her to eat more,” she confesses.
The mental health nurse remained enraged, relying on her career experience.
“I’m absolutely angry,” she said.
“I have young girls with eating disorders. Many of these patients have been commented on the weight at a young age, creating an eternal battle with food. ”
‘Just as harmful’
Returning to a parental forum, she sought advice.
While her daughter was not ashamed, her mother was still worried about the impact of comment on her body.
“For me, it’s potentially just as harmful and I’m very angry,” she explained.
Frustrated, the mother led the matter to the Deputy Director, insisting on taking action.
“I want to send messages to girls’ mums and tell them what their ugly inflammation [kids] They have said, but I don’t know whether to do things better or worse, “she revealed.
Now, she is thinking about what she can do to prevent this from happening again.
The forum comments section was separated from its reaction.
“It is an indecent thing to say, but you will honestly not honor if you directly contact the girl’s mother,” one mother warned.
“You will look like an idiot if you turn a random comment into a big incident at school,” said another.
“I think you can be climbing slightly below the rabbit hole with eating disorders. Don’t do it too big at this stage,” a third added.
The mother admitted that her reaction may have been excessive.
“Maybe I’m reacting a lot. I just know how devastating can be the comments of body shame on girls, especially at this age and it scares me, ”she said.
“Maybe it’s more upset me than my daughter.”
