Jenny McCarthy, 52, discovered that she “became ill with being vegan” and “almost died” before going too hard in the other direction.
Speaking at Podcast “Heal Squad X Maria Menunos”, Judge “Masked Singer” was honest how her meal-based meal plan worsened her existing health conditions, including celiac disease, milk intolerance and an allergy to soybeans.
“I got tired and got tired. I was a mess,” McCarthy said.
With the advice of her “functional doctor of medicine”, she decided to go to the carnivorous diet – which exclusively consists of animal by -products such as meat, birds, eggs, seafood and fish.
While she described the meat -based plan as a “last tourist diet”, she also said she was a general player of the game for her.
“This changed my energy and my digestion,” she said, pointing out that she now experiences regular digestion without the help of laxatives.
McCarthy is not the only disciple of the carnivorous diet, which is foreseen as a miracle worker by influenza and podcasters like Joe Rogan.
However, experts are creating concerns about the potential health risks of this fashion plan.
Stones
According to doctors from the Indiana University School of Medicine, nature with high protein of the carnivorous diet can lead to an increased risk of kidney stones.
When intake of skyrocket proteins, the body produces more uric acid, which can crystallize to form kidney stones. Most pass naturally, though it can be a painful process.
Larger kidney stones can block the urinary tract, leading to potentially fatal infections and sepsis.
Increased cholesterol bad levels
Another major concern is cholesterol. A heavy diet in red meat and animal fats can increase LDL cholesterol levels – “bad” – increasing the risk of heart disease.
Some studies suggest that long -term adhesion to the carnivorous diet can contribute to the creation of tiles in the arteries, increasing the chances of a heart attack or stroke.
Digestive issues
Fiber is essential for maintaining intestinal health.
Since the meat does not have fiber and carnivorous diet eliminates fruits, vegetables and grains – which are rich in fiber – the carnivorous diet can disrupt the intestinal microbioma, leading to digestive matters such as bloating, constipation and diarrhea.
A 2021 study of over 2,000 adults who followed the meal plan for more than a year were found – surprisingly – high levels of satisfaction among participants without adverse cardiovascular effects. However, they reported some digestive issues.
Deficiency
By cutting all fruits, vegetables and grains, people in this diet can lose vitamins and essential minerals, including vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants.
Over time, these deficiencies can potentially lead to a function of poor, weakened immunity and increased inflammation in the body.
Increased risk of colon cancer
While more research is needed, some studies show that a high consumption of red and processed meat can increase the risk of cancer – especially colorectal cancer.
Terrible side effects
Earlier this year, a man in Florida made titles after discovering the startling effects of his carnivorous diet.
He told doctors that for eight months, he ate whole butter sticks, hamburger potatoes and 6 to 9 pounds of cheese.
Although he said he lost weight and experienced improvements in his energy levels and cognitive functioning, he also had a strange side effect on his hands: excess yellow lipids released from his blood vessels.
Called xanthelasma, the condition is caused by high cholesterol levels or other fats in the blood.
Ultimately
There is no diet of a convenient size-talk with your health care provider for what may be the best for you.
“Some people work [and] Better heal in a vegan diet and some people not, “McCarthy said in Podcast.” What you believe and you need to follow your intuition and then follow what your blood says or what your body says. “
