A mother who gathered the pound after trying to the night dinner dates in the “newlyweds” phase has lost nearly 200 lbs. So she can play with her son.
Chandra Pearce, 36, found herself gaining weight after marrying her husband Adad, 36.
The duo would be treated with restaurant meals most of the nights, but after stepping on the scale and seeing its heavier weight – 387 lbs. – Chandra knew she had to change.
She got Chad, a university security worker, to take photos to keep her in charge before losing 97 lbs. through a strict diet.
But after Chandra began to collapse from the anaphylactic shock when her son was just a few weeks, she decided to look at a vertical sleeve gastritom (VSG), a type of weight loss surgery, where a large part of the stomach is “cut”.
The operation allowed the mother-of-one to lose a further 105 lbs. – And she is now a 189 bs. and an American -sized medium.
Now she is “healthier” for her son crew, 1, and has more energy to play in the park with her.
“It was a kind of newlyweds to go out to dinner almost every night,” said Chandra, a child care director from Burleson, Texas.
“We had no kids, so we were just going to work and then we would go to dinner. You are just happy, with your best friend having fun and wasn’t up to six months after we got married I noticed my weight.”
Chandra and Chad tied the knot in March 2015 and the young bride did not understand how much weight she had put until she went to the staircase in October of the same year.
“It”s weird because they say it doesn’t come overnight,” she said. “I see the same person I saw then, and I know it doesn’t make sense, but there was only one day where I caught my attention.
“I thought,” I’ll get my weight, “and it was such a shock because I would never have seen that weight before.
“I went down from the scales and came back and saw the number again and overwhelmed.
“I thought ‘I’m taking control’. I told my husband, please take me these photos because I never want to be here again.”
Chandra was then diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and was put in Meraform to help treat it.
It started a strict diet, switching to home -cooked foods or grilled chicken if it came out.
“I lost 100 lbs. By myself,” she said. During that time it is when we were trying to get pregnant. “
After suffering numerous operations, including unlocking its fallopian tubes, various IUI rounds, the couple decided to prove adoption.
Chandra then became pregnant of course, but unfortunately lost the baby after inserting herself in her cervix.
“It was the hardest part of my whole life. I had everything I have ever dreamed of, and it was gone,” she said.
Despite their heart attack, Chandra and Chad “again” took the path of adoption in August 2022 and have since continued to become parents of crew, now at the age of one, in May 2023.
Just weeks after bringing their newest home home, Chandra suffered a health fear.
She was recently described ozepic to help continue her diabetes and loss of aid weight.
“It was probably when my son was about four or five weeks that I had my first anaphylactic episode,” she said.
“Doctors sent me to test allergies and immunology, but everything turned clear.
“All three times I fell down my doctor had changed my dose of Ozepic.
“I don’t know if it wasn’t getting into my system, or if it were something I ate with it maybe. I just thought” I had to get off this. “I was happy with my size where I was, and I didn’t want to rely on nothing.”
A friend recommended Chandra for Dr. Cribbins, a specialist in bariatric surgery, for a vertical sleeve gastritomy (VSG).
“When I made the consultation, I wanted a wonderful life for my son, but I was also scared,” she said.
“The doctor said if you do this procedure, you can get down anything alone. This changed my opinion a little.”
She underwent surgery in August 2024 and lost 100 other lbs. And there were no more episodes.
“I lost 100 lbs as well,” she said. “I have much more energy now to crawl on the floor and go to the slides in the park with it.
“My interests are working and are healthier for her.”
With her new rent of life, Chandra’s diet has changed completely.
“Before eating a lot of fast food, sandwiches and fried. We had a lot of pasta, Adad and I loved the olive garden,” she recalled.
“Now I don’t eat a tone. I have shock of protein and snacks, but I don’t even want any of the bad things.
“I had to save my whole closet because I was XXXL and now I’m like a big size, sometimes a medium.
“I can buy in normal stores, before I have to go to specialized stores to find items and I can’t buy in those stores anymore.
“I don’t know exactly what my style is now, I feel like I have the most options.”
