He recently shared a video revealing “the ten most toxic drinks for your heart.” We talked to Levine for which the drinks made his first four – including a previous personal favorite – and why.

Starbucks FRappuccino

We will hate to break your heart – but it Caramel Frap can be a poison arrow for your arteries.

“A big icy Frap was once my favorite,” Levine the post told the post. “Until I realized I actually got a high thing and then I crashed within two hours.”

This is because it has nearly 100 mg of caffeine and 51 grams of sugar – the equivalent of 13 spoons.

“People may not understand it, but this is almost as much sugar as the monster energy drink – 57 grams – but less than 160 mg caffeine.”

However, Levine believes “is potentially dangerous heart stress for anyone who has heart disease to drink these conclusions of caffeine and sugar and a perfect storm to induce palpitations.”

He notes that it is especially true for anyone who tries to get a little more.

“Adding alcohol for an incentive or a dependent cure only makes it worse,” he warns.

alcohol

According to Levine, drinking the boza is “possible if you have one or less drink a day if you have no heart problems, but alcohol intake increases blood pressure, triglycerides, atrial fibrillation and – in higher doses – is a direct heart toxin, so much that we have a phrase in alcohol cardiology.”

Alcohol cardiomyopathy is a heart condition specially caused by chronic severe alcohol consumption – and can be fatal.

Before you ask – yes, Levine agrees with the latest debut of the usual wisdom that a couple of red wine gyashs a day is good for your heart.

“There is nothing healthy in the heart here and all those studies – more sponsored by the alcohol or summer industry – they were probably observation -based studies, with an association with better results, but not cause,” he said.

“Simply put: People who drank a glass of wine may have been more athletic or have any other non -calculated benefit.”

Soda

It seems that a pop cans is no better.

“Let’s be simple here: a soda can have 10 tablespoons of sugar in it or equivalent amounts of corn syrup,” he said. “Toxicet toxic.”

These large doses of sugar – which mainly come in the form of corn syrup in the US – increase triglycerides, increase your weight, promote blood sugar levels and give your diabetes risk a lift – all of these damage the heart, according to Levine.

“I want everyone to imagine drinking 1/5 of a cup of pure corn syrup because that’s what you are doing whenever you drink a coke can,” he said.

Energy drink

Last but not least – energy drinks can be battery acid for the heart.

“Drinks like Red Bull have about 1.5 times caffeine like coffee, but also contain almost eight teaspoons or more sugar – or worse, corn syrup,” he said. “Monster energy drinks have almost 15 teaspoons of it.”

A destroyed mother has been sounding the alarm for energy drinks after her 28-year-old daughter “Queen of Training” died at the age of 28 from a heart attack.
