A little man broke a big record.
Marcelino “Mashico” Abad Toletino – which is only 4’3 ″ tall – is believed to be the oldest person in the world after he returned 125 Saturday, April 5.
Born in the remote district Chagla in Peru, the ID of photographs issued by the government of Toletino lists his birth year as 1900.
The old and the little man, who celebrated his birthday in a care home in Huánuco, Peru, was orphaned at the age of seven after his parents died tragically as they tried to cross a river.
Toletino worked in fields from an early age, unable to attend school because the closest was still far away.
During his time working the fields, he raised animals and carried goods to the farm, which came to his life later.
He never had a partner or child-he lived a simple, lonely and self-sufficient life, Needtoknow reported.
Toletino credit his long life, eating vegetables from his garden, which he refers to as the “Garden of Eden”, as well as fruits and lamb.
He chewed the leaves of the head – a habit he took during his time in the fields to stay with energy – and complemented most of his diet with herb and medicinal plants he received from the wild.
But his absolute food favorite to eat is avocado.
“He always seeks avocado in the morning for breakfast,” Cook Toletino told his home care home for local media. “He cannot live without his avocado.”
Toletino’s acquaintances describe him as a “good” man that always helps those who need it.
It is unclear if Guinness World Records is planning to certify it as the oldest living person. The post has arrived for comment.
The current record is held by Sister INAH Canabarro Lucas, who is 116 years old. The Brazilian Nun will return 117 to June 8.
