You’ve heard of Ginseng and Ginkgo Biloba – these Chinese herbs are widely used to improve cognitive function, increase energy and reduce stress.
But you are probably not aware of Jiaogulan. This less well -known herb, the so -called “herb of immortality” is turning its heads for its potential to increase metabolism, reduce cholesterol and reduce inflammation while promoting longevity.
“Few people in the SH.BA know about it,” the post told Dr. Michael Aziz, an internist and regenerating medicine -based specialist in NYC.

What is Jiaogulan?
Jiaogulan, which grows in the mountainous and wooded areas of Asia, is officially known as Gynostemma Pentaphyllum and unofficially as “South Ginseng” or “Miracle Grass”.

What are the possible side effects?
Jiaogulan is considered safe for consumption, Aziz said.
The most often reported side effects are nausea and diarrhea and less often, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision or tinnitus.
People who take medication should consult a health care provider before adding Jiaogulan to their daily routine, as the supplements can interact with medication.
“Diabetics should be careful and adjust their medicines with the help of their doctors if they drink massive amounts of jiaogulan tea because it can lower blood sugar, Aziz advised.
